About Marty

Hi, I’m Marty.

I’m a personal injury lawyer. I act for people, never insurance companies. And I’d like to think I’m pretty easy to talk to.

Marty Mikhail

Why I do this

Most people with a valid claim never pursue it. Not because they don’t deserve help, but because they don’t know they have a claim, don’t know where to start, or assume a lawyer is out of reach.

That gap bothers me. Lemonade Law is my answer to it: plain English, no Latin, no making you feel small, and a straight answer even when it’s “you don’t need us.”

What I do

I help people who’ve been hurt: car accidents, slips and falls, denied long-term disability claims, dog bites, civil claims arising from an assault, and other serious injuries. I deal with the insurance company so you can focus on getting better.

How I got here

I studied law at the University of Ottawa, then articled and practised in Toronto. From there I moved to British Columbia, where I second chaired two personal injury trials in the BC Supreme Court. I came home to Ottawa to be closer to family, and I’ve been here since.

Claim.ca

Outside my practice, I’m building Claim.ca, a national platform that helps Canadians find out whether they have a claim and what to do about it. It tracks class actions and settlements, explains accident benefits and injury law in plain language, and connects people to the right help.

When I’m not lawyering

Soccer and pickleball keep me grounded, and I play both as often as I can. I try to get somewhere new every year. And I have an unreasonable interest in watches.

Where I practise

Lemonade Law is my practice at Quinn Thiele Mineault Grodzki LLP, in Ontario. I work in English and Arabic.

Nice to meet you.
